Trump announces that the UAE has concluded a peace agreement with "Israel"

Today, Thursday, the White House announced the completion of a peace agreement in a phone call between US President Donald Trump, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and the Crown Prince of the UAE, Mohammed bin Zayed.

The White House said in a statement that the Israeli-Emirati agreement will include security issues, investments, exchange of embassies and direct flights.

In his speech, Trump said: "I wanted to give my name to the agreement between Israel and the UAE, but the press will not accept that, and the agreement between Israel and the UAE will be known as the Abraham Agreement."

Trump added, "We wish Arab and Islamic countries to normalize their relations with Israel, and I thank the leaders of Israel and the UAE for their courage."

For his part, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi said in a tweet: “In my phone call today with US President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, it was agreed to stop Israel´s annexation of the Palestinian territories. The UAE and Israel also agreed to lay down a roadmap towards the launch of joint cooperation, leading to bilateral relations. ".

For its part, the Emirates News Agency stated that "delegations from the UAE and Israel will meet during the coming weeks to sign bilateral agreements in several sectors."

As the UAE ambassador to Washington, Yousef Al-Otaiba, said, "We will join Israel with the United States to launch the strategic agenda for the Middle East."
