"OCHA": the occupation demolished or confiscated 30 buildings within two weeks

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, OCHA, revealed that the Israeli occupation authorities demolished or confiscated 30 buildings in the so-called Area C of the West Bank and in East Jerusalem, within two weeks.

"OCHA" stated in his report that "30 buildings owned by Palestinians in Area C and East Jerusalem were demolished or confiscated on the pretext of lacking building permits issued by the Israeli authorities," noting that the demolitions led to the displacement of 25 people and damage to 140 others .

The OCHA report covers the period from the 14th to the 27th of last July.

The report indicated that one of the buildings that had been demolished (on the 21st of July) on the outskirts of Hebron was to be used as a center for conducting Corona virus infection tests, according to the Hebron municipality.

He added: "This building and three other buildings were demolished according to Military Order 1797, which allows removal of unlicensed buildings within 96 hours of sending a notification."

Humanitarian organizations and human rights institutions, according to the report, "expressed their concern over and over this procedure, which prevents the persons affected by it and from making their statements before the judicial authorities to a large extent."
