Jordan condemns Israel´s approval to build a thousand settlement units in occupied Jerusalem

The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Affairs condemned, today, Sunday, the Israeli occupation authorities approval to build more than 1000 settlement units in the area (E1) east of occupied Jerusalem.

The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Affairs, Ambassador Dhaifallah Ali Al-Fayez, said that the Kingdom rejects Israeli settlement policies in the occupied Palestinian territories, which constitute a violation of international law and Security Council resolutions, and a unilateral move that undermines the chances of a two-state solution based on international legitimacy resolutions.

Al-Fayez renewed the warning about the danger of construction in the E1 area and in all occupied Palestinian territories.

Al-Fayez stressed the need to stop all illegal and illegal settlement practices, whether building or expanding them or confiscating lands in accordance with the obligations of Israel as an occupying power, and considered that the settlement policy destroys the chances of a two-state solution and works to deepen despair and increase tension.
