Mansour sends international messages about the deteriorating situation due to the escalation of occupation crimes

The Permanent Representative of the State of Palestine to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, sent, Thursday, three identical messages to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, and the President of the Security Council for this month (France), and the President of the United Nations General Assembly, regarding the continuing protection crisis and the deterioration The situation on the ground is a result of the continued occupation by Israel, the occupying Power, of depriving the Palestinian people of their humanity and of occupying their land.

On the anniversary of the 53rd anniversary of the start of the Israeli occupation of Palestinian land in the year 1967, Mansour pointed out that the Israeli occupation forces killed five Palestinian civilians, as the number of Palestinians killed since January reached at least 22 martyrs, including a child (4 years), and a Palestinian youth. Autistic.

He stressed that these incidents are not isolated, given that the occupation forces are notorious for their brutality against unarmed Palestinian civilians, as the killings have become extra-legal and in addition to they are war crimes, they are usually repugnant.

Mansour stressed that the occupying Power continues its routine and systematic violence against Palestinian civilians, including, but not limited to, the shooting of a Palestinian man with Down syndrome during a raid on the village of Nabi Saleh, and forcing the family of an elderly Palestinian woman using a wheelchair to demolish the house She built it to accommodate her disability in East Jerusalem, and attack Palestinian worshipers performing the Eid prayer in Jerusalem.

Mansour warned that the escalation of Israeli crimes against Palestinian civilians occurs in parallel with the concrete steps taken by the occupying Power on the ground to implement its plans to annex large parts of the occupied West Bank, including the Jordan Valley and the lands on which the settlements and the wall were built, in serious violation of international law , Including the United Nations Charter, the Fourth Geneva Convention and many relevant Security Council and General Assembly resolutions.

He stressed the importance of reaffirming that the Israeli unilateral annexation plans, if allowed to move forward, would lead to the demise of the two-state solution on the pre-1967 borders and would lead to a one-state apartheid regime, with all the catastrophic consequences that accompany it.

Mansour also warned that Israel would continue to completely disregard Palestinian law and life as long as it was exempt from legal and political accountability.

He called on the international community to assume its responsibilities and ensure respect for international law through concrete measures, including, among other things, closing markets to Israeli settlement products, supporting the International Criminal Court in its consideration of the situation in Palestine, and imposing economic and diplomatic sanctions until the occupying Power adheres to the law.
