The occupation arrested 357 Palestinians last March

Palestinian human rights organizations reported that, during the month of March, 357 Palestinians were arrested by the Israeli occupation forces, including 48 children and 4 women.

The institutions said in a statement today, Tuesday, that the occupation forces continued the arrests against the Palestinians, despite great fears of the spread of the Coruna virus.

It showed that 192 arrests were in Jerusalem, 33 in Ramallah and Al-Bireh, 45 in Hebron, 19 in Jenin, 23 in Nablus, 18 in Qalqilya, 11 from Tulkarm, 3 from Bethlehem, and 8 in the Gaza Strip.

The legal paper in which the information was received was issued by: Prisoners and Editors Affairs Authority (official), Palestinian Prisoner Club (semi-official), Al-Dameer Association for Prisoner Care and Human Rights (civil).

The paper indicated that the number of Palestinian prisoners and detainees in the prisons of the occupation until the end of last March, has reached nearly 5000; including 41 female prisoners, about 180 children, and administrative detainees are approximately 430.

And she added: "The prisoners suffer from difficult conditions, the lowest that can be described as inhumane and unhealthy, which increases the fears of the spread of the epidemic among them, especially the sick prisoners."

She stated that the sick prisoners in the occupation prisons number 700, including 16 prisoners who are living in tragic conditions in the "Ramla prison clinic", which the prisoners are called "the slaughterhouse . "

And human rights institutions monitored in its reports, the death of 222 Palestinian prisoners; since 1967 in the prisons of the occupation; including 67 detainees due to deliberate medical neglect.

And noted that the occupation authorities issued last March 92 administrative detention orders: new and renewal.

She pointed to the aggravation of fears that affect the fate of Palestinian prisoners in the occupation prisons, with the spread of the new Covid-19 virus (Corona), accompanied by deliberate procrastination by the prison administration in providing the necessary preventive measures within the prisoners' sections.

She drew attention to the overcrowding in the prisons of the occupation, "which in turn creates an ideal environment for the spread of the virus, which may lead to infecting huge numbers of prisoners, especially with the announcement of the management of the occupation prisons about the injury of two prisons, and other stone."
