Japan provides about $ 33 million in new financial aid to Palestine

The Government of Japan announced the provision of new financial aid to the Palestinian people, in the amount of 32,764,655 USD, through international organizations.

In a statement today, Tokyo clarified that the new aid package includes

She indicated that this new package includes aid to Palestinian refugees through the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), and support for the urgent protection of marginalized communities through the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) .

Aid will also be provided through the United Nations Children´s Fund (UNICEF) , the United Nations Women (UNWOMEN) , the United Nations Population Fund ((UNFPA , the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNMAS) and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs UNOCHA) ) and the Committee International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

The assistance includes the provision of medical supplies through the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) and the World Health Organization  (WHO) , and support to achieve economic recovery through the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Office of the Quartet .
