Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas announced today (Tuesday) that measures to change the functional role of the Palestinian Authority will be immediately initiated, in accordance with the resolutions of the Central and National Councils.
Abbas´s announcement came in response to US President Donald Trump´s announcement of his settlement plan, known as the "Deal of the Century", on Tuesday evening.
President Abbas reiterated the rejection of the settlement plan announced by Us President Donald Trump on Tuesday and said it was a conspiracy that would not pass.
At a meeting of the Palestinian leadership in Ramallah, Abbas announced that action would be taken immediately to end the palestinian Authority´s functional role in response to the announcement of the U.S. plan.
The united states plan served Israel´s policies and plans, and it could not be accepted by the Palestinians, especially since it granted Jerusalem a unified capital of Israel.
President Abbas said that the plans to liquidate the Palestinian issue to failure and disappear will not really fall and will not create a commitment, and said: "We will return this slap slap in the future."
The President added that our strategy is based on our continued struggle to end the Israeli occupation and to embody the independence of the State with East Jerusalem as its capital.
