France condemns the Israeli decision to build 1936 new settlement units in the West Bank

France condemned the new decisions taken by the Israeli authorities to build 1936 housing units in the West Bank.

France said in a statement issued by its consulate general in Jerusalem, Friday evening, that the Israeli decisions fall in a context of concern, as we witness the acceleration of settlement in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

She emphasized that settlement settlement in all its aspects is illegal from the perspective of international law, especially from the perspective of UN Security Council Resolution 2334, as it contributes to fueling field tensions and undermines the conditions for a just and lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians based on a two-state solution.

France called on the Israeli authorities to abandon these projects and all other projects that contribute to undermining the two-state solution.
