Gaza: Imposing new measures in light of the high number of Corona cases

 The Ministry of Interior in the Gaza Strip announced, on Thursday evening, the imposition of new measures in the governorates of the Gaza Strip, after the significant increase in the recorded infections with the Coronavirus.

The Ministry decided to impose more stringent measures on homes that are subject to quarantine, and to prevent anyone from leaving those homes under all circumstances.

The Ministry confirmed that whoever violates the home quarantine procedures and leaves the house in any way, legal measures will be taken against him, which amount to imprisonment.

The Ministry stressed the prevention of crowding inside homes, and the establishment of mourning and wedding houses in large numbers in violation of safety and prevention measures, and whoever violates this will be taken immediate measures against him, according to the text of the statement.

The Ministry reaffirmed the curfew measures after 8:00 pm, completely preventing movement, and closing all establishments and shops.

It has also been decided to close mosques and schools in areas classified as red, which record an increase in the number of injuries, as of tomorrow morning, Friday, excluding public secondary schools only, and the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs also confirmed the re-closing of all mosques in the areas classified as red, as of dawn Tomorrow, Friday, until further notice.

The Waqf called on citizens in those areas to perform prayers in congregation at home, and not to go to mosques in open areas due to the consequent increase in the spread of the epidemic in the Gaza Strip.

The Ministry of Interior announced the new areas that were classified as "red", which are in the North Gaza Governorate: Beit Hanoun, Jabalia Camp, Beit Lahia Project, Jabalia Al-Balad.

And in the Gaza Governorate: Al-Tuffah and Al-Daraj, Jadeeda, Al-Turkman, Sheikh Radwan, Al-Nasr.

And in the central governorate: Block C and F in Nuseirat camp.

And in Khan Yunis: Al-Amal neighborhood.

She stressed the commitment of citizens traveling in vehicles to preventive measures and wear the mask, noting that violating vehicles and their passengers will be seized.

It renewed its call for all citizens to adhere to preventive safety measures, including wearing a muzzle.
