Welcome Democrats in Congress to lift the blockade of Gaza and refinance UNRWA

Jamal Al-Khudari, the head of the People´s Committee to Face the Siege in the Gaza Strip, welcomed today, Saturday, the invitation extended by members of the American Congress for the Democratic Party to the administration of President Donald Trump to return American aid to the Gaza Strip because of the humanitarian crisis. There, funding for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees.

Al-Khudari said in a press statement to him, that this call and the necessity that it included lifting the Israeli siege on Gaza comes at a sensitive time, especially in light of the escalation of the humanitarian crisis and the aggravation of the situation in the sector.

Al-Khudari pointed out that there is no actual movement to end the tragic and catastrophic reality in Gaza, and that these calls must be invested and activated, pointing to the need for Gaza for every real and effective international effort to support it and lift its illegal, immoral and inhuman blockade, which is collective punishment according to international laws.

He added, "The continuation of the international silence on these risks that affect the humanitarian situation in Gaza, encouraged the occupation to commit more violations, tighten the siege and return to the first square in the siege, closure and restrictions."

He pointed to the reality of the besieged sector, as 85% of the population lives below the poverty line.

Al-Khudari reaffirmed that the main solution to end this catastrophe is to lift the blockade completely, open all crossings, allow freedom of movement for individuals and goods, allow import and export without prohibited lists, and immediately work to support all sectors affected by the blockade, namely the health, economic, educational, environmental, electricity and water sectors. .
