Human Rights Commission: Occupation around Erez crossing into a trap for Gazans

The International Committee for the Support of The Rights of the Palestinian People (AMASS) on Sunday condemned the Israeli occupation authorities´ restriction on the movement and movement of citizens from crossings connecting the besieged Gaza Strip to the outside world, particularly the Erez crossing in the northern Gaza Strip.

According to the data available to the Authority, according to the information of the rights organizations, the Israeli occupation authorities accelerated the pace of their detention of the Palestinian population during 2019, arresting about 13 Palestinian citizens of the Gaza Strip, while crossing through the Beit Hanoun (Erez) crossing to and from the Gaza Strip.

Gaza, despite receiving the required approval and passes, and after conducting interviews with the aim of allowing them to pass, which confirms that the occupation authorities have made the crossing a trap for arrest, a place of blackmail, bargaining and pressure on citizens, from humanitarian cases, and patients students and merchants.


The International Organization for the Support of the Rights of the Palestinian People (Mobil) expresses its deep concern about the continuation of the policy of arbitrary detention by the occupying forces and the use of crossings to force Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip to blackmail and exploit their humanitarian needs, in a serious and systematic violation of the rules of law International humanitarian law and human rights law, and therefore register and demand the following:


The International Commission (RIFF): It renews its call for the international community to quickly put pressure on the Israeli occupation authorities, to force them to liquidate and end their 14-year siege of the Gaza Strip, in order to ensure the freedom of movement and movement of the residents of the Gaza Strip, and to stop arbitrary arrests against them.


The international body (Rally): The continued incompetence and silence of the international community has been an encouraging factor for the occupying forces to commit further crimes against Palestinian civilians.


The International Commission (RIF): The Palestinian National Authority demands that diplomatic channels and all international human rights mechanisms, including intensified work with the Permanent International Criminal Court, be activated to ensure that the Prosecutor is granted the necessary judicial authorization to enable it to open an investigation into crimes Israel, which will strengthen the path of boycotting, isolating and holding the leaders of the occupation accountable for their ongoing crimes against Palestinian civilians.
