Prisoner Club: The occupation has arrested more than 745 children since the beginning of 2019

According to the (semi-official) Palestinian Prisoners´ Club, israeli occupation authorities have arrested 745 Palestinian children under the age of 18 from the beginning of 2019 until the end of October.
The Al-Assir Club said in a report on Tuesday that nearly 200 children continue to be detained by the occupation authorities in the detention camps of "Megiddo", "Ofer", and "Damon", in addition to another part of the children of Jerusalem detained in special centers.
"The occupation carries out a series of violations against children during their detention process, which begins from the very first moment they were brutally arrested and taken from their homes late at night."
"After 2015, dozens of cases of children who were shot directly and deliberately by the Occupying Forces during their arrests were documented," he said.
"In addition, they were taken to interrogation and arrest centres, kept without food or drink, severebeatings, insults and profanity, threats and intimidation."
The prisoner´s club noted that the occupation "extracts confessions from children under pressure and threats, sentencing in absentia, and the imposition of high sentences and fines."
According to the report, violations against children continue during their detention in detention, including denial of completion of studies, denial of family visits, or appropriate treatment for those suffering from diseases that require intensive medical care and follow-up.
Since 2015, the issue of child prisoners has undergone many transformations, including the passage of a number of racist laws or bills, which are enacting high sentences for children, in some cases more than 10 years, and even life sentences, the report said.
The occupation authorities transferred a number of children to administrative detention, including Suleiman Mohammed Abu Ghosh, 17, from Qalandia camp, Nidal Ziad Amer, 17, and Hafiz Ibrahim Zeyoud, 16, from Jenin governorate.
The Al-Assir Club reiterated its call for international human rights institutions to do more to protect Palestinian children, notably the United Nations Children´s Fund (UNICEF).
